April is a confident, capable rider who instantly makes people feel at ease, especially those who are nervous or just starting out. She combines technical skill with genuine care, creating an environment where riders can learn and grow without fear.
I have watched as April’s insight and guidance helped many riders gain more confidence and control on the bike. I’ve also found her observations of my own riding at track to be extremely valuable.
Both on track and on road, her selfless passion for helping women in the sport is truly inspiring. I would recommend April in a heartbeat to anyone who is new to track or wants help with their progression.

Initially unfamiliar with the track, I found myself at a loss regarding my approach and sought assistance. I was unexpectedly removed from the beginner group at a track day due to my perceived lack of experience.
My housemate recommended reaching out to April, a highly skilled coach at QR who had previously assisted Jasmine. I promptly messaged her, expressing my apprehension and detailing my initial experience. She offered valuable guidance and inquired about my return to the track.
On the day of my session, April encouraged me and provided a straightforward focus: positioning myself on the track. She remained at my side, guiding me through the process. I naturally followed her instructions, gradually building confidence. When I experienced anxiety during corners, she maintained a close proximity, while during straights, we synchronised our paces. After each round, she provided feedback, celebrated my progress, and engaged in constructive feedback.
We then focused on body positioning. I was preoccupied with my speed and how fast I needed to go, and asked about her approach to fixing this. April reminded me that speed is not the primary objective; rather, comfort and flow are paramount. She even covered my speedometer with tape to help me focus on the raw feeling rather than the numerical values.
Over several sessions, a significant transformation occurred. I was exerting greater effort, developing greater self-assurance, and genuinely enjoying the experience.
Having a female coach like April made a profound difference. I felt more comfortable disclosing my apprehensions and receiving support in a manner that was previously unavailable to me.
My initial experience with male coaches resulted in my removal from the track for safety reasons, but with April, I finally obtained the guidance and confidence I required.
Big thank you again! i cannot wait to get on track once i’ve finished my project R7 for track!
